Film Bucks was established in 2009 to provide payroll services to the Film and Television Industry. Film Bucks are pioneers in creating the payroll structure of payroll services in South Africa. In the setup of Production Bank accounts as well as introducing the utilization of “DAILY TIMESHEETS” which enables a Production to provide daily hot costs. We differ from all other payroll companies in that we process payroll payments from a Production payroll bank account set up at the start which enables the Key production members to have releasing controls which in turn limits exposure and risk.
Since incorporation, it has serviced various South African and International projects. Recent projects include International feature films such as Lillies not For Me (Wolfflight Films) and Afterlife of the Party (Netflix) as well as international television series such Average Joe Season 2 ( BET- Paramount) and The Professionals (Spier Films), Escaping Bolivia (Fenomen x 4 ½ AS ) and Revelation Road (Pureflix).
Film Bucks processes payroll for Cast, Crew and Extras on a weekly basis. Our Payroll service guarantees the efficient processing of payrolls, monthly payments of PAYE & SDL in line with deadlines set out by the South African Revenue Services. In addition to our Payroll and Post Production services we also offer consultation on all the DTIC Film Incentive programmes available in South Africa.
Our Payroll service offers the following:
- Processing of weekly and/or monthly payrolls for SA Cast, Crew and Extras
- We provide a Banking interface for payment of Cast, Crew and Extras
- A journal interface can be provided which can be imported into your current program for efficient payroll cost recording and cost reporting purposes
- Provision of Payslip in hardcopy or an email interface can be created upon request
- Monthly PAYE and SDL reconciliation (EMP201) submission and timely payment to SARS
- Submission of BI-ANNUAL PAYE reconciliations to SARS (EMP501)
- Submission of ANNUAL PAYE reconciliation to SARS (EMP501)
- Provision of complete Cast, Crew and Extras details in required format on behalf of the Production (SPV) for DTI rebate application purposes and Broad-Based Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) purposes.
Our Postproduction Consultation service offers the following:
- Continued Cost Reporting
- Bank Reconciliations
- Clearing of Trial Balance Items • Petty cash follow ups
- Processing Journals
- Accounts Payable queries and obtaining NIL balance statements
- Liaison with Auditors and provision of any supporting documentation required
- Ensuring that all statutory requirements and deadlines are met including Nil balance submissions
- Ensuring that all Tax types are deregistered
Our DTIC Consultation service offers the following:
- Preparation and submission of FORM A for all relevant South African DTIC Incentive Programmes
- Preparation and submission of FORM B for all relevant South African DTIC Incentive Programmes
- Preparation and submission of FORM C for all relevant South African DTIC Incentive Programmes
- Liaising directly with DTIC on all queries presented.
